Before you come to the lab, you will receive an email containing a campus map and the date and time of your appointment.
The day before your appointment you will also receive a call to confirm your appointment. At this time we will send you another email with more detailed driving directions and links to fill out surveys if you want to save time during your visit.
When you arrive on campus you will park in the spot closest to the door of the Austin Peay building on Circle Drive and a research assistant will be there to meet you with a parking pass.
Once you park, the research assistant will take you up to our lab on the fourth floor.
In our play area, your child can explore and play with some toys and books.
When you feel they are comfortable, your child will be seated on your lap in a room with monitors and speakers & will be presented with a series of words and pictures.
After the study is complete, we will ask you to fill out a survey (if you have not filled it out online before coming in).
To thank you and your child for participating, we will give a small thank you gift!
On your first visit, you will get one of our shirts and on subsequent visits, your child will get to pick out a book.
Your visit will only last about 30 minutes, and our research assistant will walk you back to your car to pick up the parking pass.
